MAKING BIRTHDAY CARDS USING CHRISTMAS STAMP SETS AND PAPERS

featuring Stampin' Up! Products

As a Stampin' Up! demonstrator, we are often provided with various challenges to stretch our skills.  Today, I made some Birthday Cards, using stamp sets and designer papers out of Stampin' Up!'s 2019 Holiday Catalog, and combined them with sentiments from the 2019-2020 Annual Catalog.   Here are pictures of the two cards:

This first card uses the Holly Jolly Christmas bundle for the presents, and the Christmas Countdown Stamp Set for the blue streamer dots on the Whisper White cardstock.   Also, on the Coastal Cabana 2" circle, another stamp from the Christmas Countdown was used tone-on-tone.

For the second card, I used the Cup of Christmas bundle, and again the Christmas Countdown Stamp Set.

Both cards feature the Let It Snow Specialty Designer Series Paper (DSP), which provide the white dots (snow or confetti) in the background.

Both cards also use an A2 (5-1/2" x 4-1/4") card base; however, Card 1 on the left is the standard right opening card, while Card 2 opens vertically.  The bottom mat is the Let It Snow DSP.  I then layered scraps I had of Blueberry Bushel Card Stock (3" W x 4-1/4" tall) on both cards.

Card 1 then has a piece of Whisper White cardstock (3" W x 3-1/2" tall) placed at an angle over the Blueberry Bushel piece.  I stamped this piece with the "streamers" from the Christmas Countdown stamp set, about 3 or 3-1/2 times across both the top and bottom of this Whisper White piece.  The Coastal Cabana circle from the 2" Circle Punch also has the larger background stamp on it, using Coastal Cabana stamp pad.  I then stamped the sentiment from Well Said, using Blueberry Bushel stamp pad.  I edged the Whisper White circle using a Read Red Stampin' Write marker from the Many Marvelous Markers set.  I stamped, colored with blends, and die cut the 2 presents from the Holly Jolly Christmas bundle.  I also die cut a Blueberry Bushel small tag from the same bundle.

Card 2 is essentially done in the same manner, with the same size Blueberry Bushel Card Stock.  The difference is the Whisper White "tag" that was originally 2" wide by 4" long, but I cut 3/4" off the bottom of it so it wouldn't stick out of the piece of scrap just under the Real Red cup.   I heat embossed the Happy Birthday using Stampin' White Embossing Powder and a heat gun.  That is popped up on dimensionals, but everything else is glued down.

Here is a link to my YouTube live stream where I show how to make them.
