Oh So Inspired Collaboration (YouTube) - 11/15/19

Fun Fold Card featuring Winter Woods and Peaceful Boughs Stamp Sets by Stampin' Up!

Hi Everyone!  I know it's been awhile since I've posted on my blog, but I'm updating today (November 19th) with several posts covering November 15th through November 18th.  This is the first of three or four posts.

On YouTube, I participate in a monthly collaboration called Oh, So Inspired which is hosted by Alicia of Call Me Crafty Al (YouTube channel name).  Each month, all the participants are provided a link to a Pin or Blog or something to use as inspiration to make whatever we would like.  Some do cards, some do scrapbook pages, etc.   This month our inspiration piece was a Fun Fold Card by LeAnne Pugliese of weeinklings.  Her blog indicates she is also a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator.  The inspiration piece was from January 27, 2016 and can be found here:   http://weeinklings.blogspot.com/2016/01/fun-fold-cards.html

Since I am fairly new to paper crafting and making cards, I chose to make the Fun Fold Card as shown (as far as dimensions), but I decided to make a Christmas card instead of a floral as in the original card.  Here are some pictures of the card:

I found that the measurements produced a card smaller than an A2, which I would re-do somehow to make an A2 card for any future efforts.  In any event, here are the dimensions as listed by LeAnne back in 2016, with notations where I modified even to make this size card:
  • Designer Series Paper (Toile Tidings on my card)
    • 4" x 3-1/4" (for front cover),
    • 4" x 1-1/2" for first flap, however, I cut 3 of these and used them on all the smaller sections of the card.
  • Card Base (Color 1 - Very Vanilla Thick on my card):  10-1/2" x 4-1/4",
    • SCORE at 1-3/4", 3-1/2", 7", and 8-3/4"
  • Card Stock Mats (Color 2 - Garden Green on my card):
    • 4-1/2" x 3-3/4" - This is for the Outside Back of the card (I did NOT use this, and looking at My card, I would make this the same as the Card Front piece below for this exact card)
    • 4-1/4" x 3-1/2" - Card Front (NOTE: this is a slightly different measurement than LeAnne's and I felt it worked better given the dimensions of the card and the DSP),
    • 4-1/8" x 3-3/8" INSIDE Back Larger Section
    • 4-1/8" x 1-5/8" (x 3 pieces) for the smaller sections
    • Scrap to punch 2-1/4" Circle from
  • Card Stock Mat (Color 3 - Very Vanilla (not thick) - this wasn't on LeAnne's measurements:
    • 3-7/8" Tall x 3-1/4" Wide - this is for inside the card on top the 4-1/8" x 3-3/8" Mat.
    • Scrap to stamp the Round Sentiment on, large enough to punch with Starburst Punch.
    • Large Scrap to stamp using Garden Green ink pad and die cut the tree using the Winter Woods stamp set and In The Woods Dies.
    • Small Scraps to Stamp Pine Cones using Delicata Celestial Copper Ink and then using the In The Woods Dies to cut out 4 Pine Cones.
  • Copper Foil Sheets - use to Die Cut Stitched Shapes - Largest Oval, as well as 3 bare trees from the In The Woods dies, used as embellishments.
The steps are pretty easy.  Do all your scoring on the card base.  Adhere the Garden Green Mats, EXCEPT the Card Front piece (save and adhere later).  Adhere your Designer Series Paper Mats.  Stamp your Sentiments and Adhere the Very Vanilla rectangle to inside larger card stock mat.  Punch using Starburst Punch the smaller sentiment.  Punch the Garden Green scrap using 2-1/4" Circle Punch.  Stamp and Die Cut the Tree for front of card.  Stamp and Die Cut the 4 Pine Cones.  Die Cut all Copper Foil shapes noted above.   Assemble as shown in pictures and YouTube video (see below).

I hope you found that helpful.  Here is a link to my YouTube video explaining how I made the card, though it was pointed out that I left the dimensions out of the video (I didn't feel it necessary since I pretty much followed the dimensions of the inspiration piece), but now you have them above.

If you are interested in any of the products I used, they were available as of this post, but catalogs change and things retire so they may not be available when you see this post.  In any event, links are provided below to the products used, and I would love to have you as a customer IF you are Over 18 and in the USA.  Don't forget to use the current Host Code shown in upper right corner of my blog page for any orders under $150.   Thank you so much for watching.  Hope you come back soon!
