Winter Fun Collab - 11/18/19 - Shaker Tags

featuring Let It Snow Specialty Designer Series Paper by Stampin' Up! (and more)

This was a Fun project to do for yet another collaboration I'm part of on YouTube.  These cute Snowmen Shaker Tags are the result of my efforts for Week 2 of the collaboration:

These are pretty simple to make once you get started.  Here is the process:

  1. Cut 4 pieces (for two tags, or 2 pieces for 1 tag) of 2" Wide by 4" Long Let It Snow Specialty Designer Series Paper.  I used the one that was mostly glittery trees.
  2. Use the Scalloped Tag Topper Punch to punch all 4 tags on one of the 2-inch sides.
  3. Cut a piece of window sheet to be about 3-1/4" Long by 1-3/4" Wide (it needs to be big enough to cover a window in the front, but you don't want it to go all the way to the top of the tag.
  4. Decide which 2 pieces of paper you want to show through the windows, and which 2 you are Okay with die cutting rectangles out of.
  5. Die cut Stitched Shape Rectangles out of the 2 top pieces, and save the rectangles for another project - perhaps a card to go with these cute tags, or maybe more tags. :-)
  6. Get the piece of DSP that has the front-facing snowmen with NO HATS, and use the Snowman Builder Punch to punch out 2 of them.  See the above picture for which snowmen they are.  The back of the paper is the Red with white snow dots on it as shown in the picture above.
  7. Assemble the shakers.  Place Tear and Tape around all 4 edges of the Rectangular opening (on the back) and adhere the window sheet.  Next, place Foam Adhesive Strips around the edges of the bottom tag with the part facing up that you want to show through the window.   If you would like, you can use your Embossing Buddy inside where the sequins will go to eliminate sticky and static.  Add a big pinch of sequins - that's all you really need. Peel off the backings and adhere carefully to the top tag, making sure the bottom and sides of both tags line up.
  8. Adhere the Snowmen to the Front Bottom Left Corner of each tag using Mini Glue Dots, and using the hats that punched out of the paper as well.  You can either use the arms that punched out at same time, or not use arms, or punch some using scraps of Basic Black card stock.
  9. Using the Shimmery Crystal Effects, put a steady stream of this all along the outer edges (2 sides and the bottom only)C of the foam strips.  This helps ensure that any openings in the foam strips won't let sequins leak out.
  10. Using the Ice Stampin' Glitter and a Coffee Filter or Scrap Paper, dip the sides and bottom of each tag that has the Shimmery Crystal Effects on them (while still wet) into the glitter, making sure to cover all visible areas of the foam strips.  Allow to dry.
  11. Cut a piece of the Polka-Dot Tulle ribbon to desired length, Fold in Half and put through the slots in front/back of tag and loop the 2 ends through.  Pull tight, but not so tight that you tear the top of the tag.
AREN'T THESE CUTE?!?!  HAVE FUN!
