AUTUMN LEAVES Cards from YouTube Live - 9/3/19

Featuring Gather Together Bundle and Come to Gather Designer Series Paper, and more, by Stampin' Up!

Although it was a strange night on YouTube, I actually shared quite a few cards that night.  After finishing the two Halloween cards (see post below this one), we switched to Autumn and used some backgrounds I had prepared in an earlier Live from the week before.  I'll explain them in this blog post.   Here are pictures of Card 4 (Autumn Leaves with Pigment Sprinkles) and Card 5 (Autumn Leaves with Metallics).

First, I'll list the supplies used for these 2 cards, then I'll briefly describe how I made them, but to see them made in action, please visit the YouTube video linked below the Supplies.  Also, if you'd like any of the supplies and are in the USA, I would Love to be your demonstrator.  Just click the link of any product and it will take you to that product (as long as it is still available, otherwise it will take you to the main Stampin' Up! shopping page).  Be sure to use the Host Code shown in the upper right corner of my Blog for any orders under $150.  This will change at least monthly, so be sure to use the current Host Code.  Thank you so much for viewing, and for your orders!

Supplies used for Card 5 are as follows:

CARD 4 - AUTUMN LEAVES WITH PIGMENT SPRINKLES:

This card uses two backgrounds I made the last week of August on a Wednesday live.  The first background uses the Basic Pattern Decorative Masks from the 2019 Holiday Catalog, the one I'll refer to as the Leaf Stencil.  I used Sponge Daubers and sponged the following ink colors onto a Whisper White mat size 5-1/4" x 4":
  • Old Olive
  • Crushed Curry
  • Cajun Craze
  • Pumpkin Pie
  • Crumb Cake
The other "background piece" was a piece of Watercolor paper that I sprinkled the Pigment Sprinkles from the 2019-2020 Annual Catalog on in these colors:
  • Granny Apple Green
  • Mango Melody
  • Daffodil Delight
I then spritzed the piece of Watercolor paper with water using a Stampin' Spritzer and dried it with a Heat Gun. When making this card, I stamped the larger leaf from the Gather Together bundle using Early Espresso ink pad.  I die cut those out, as well as a medium sized maple leaf from the coordinating dies in that bundle.  The small leaf used was from the Seasonal Layers Dies that goes with the Colorful Seasons Stamp Set (but I didn't use the stamp set for this card).  So, I got 4 leaves out of one piece of water color paper that had been cut to card mat size.

To assemble the card, I cut a piece of Come to Gather Designer Series Paper (DSP) to be 2" x 4", using the piece that had the clusters of pumpkins on it with a Cajun Craze background.  I centered that strip across the middle of the leaf stenciled mat and glued it down.  Next I took a piece of the crumb cake ribbon from the Gather Together Ribbon Duo and wrapped ir around to the back of the stenciled mat, centering it over the DSP.  I tacked the ribbon down in the back and then glued the stenciled mat to the Cajun Craze card base (5-1/2" x 4-1/4").

Next, I used Mini Glue Dots to tack the larger 2 leaves down to the back of a Scalloped Circle which is approximately 2-3/4" in diameter so they would stick out upper left and bottom right.  Next I stamped off the single pumpkin from the set using Crumb Cake ink onto a Whisper White circle approximately 2-1/8" diameter.  Then I stamped the "Season of Thanks" sentiment in Cajun Craze over the pumpkin.  I edged the Whisper White circle using the Cajun Craze Stampin' Write marker out of the Many Marvelous Markers set (use the brush end).  Then, I used more Mini Glue Dots to place the Medium Die Cut Leaf to the back of the Whisper White Circle and Glued that down onto the Cajun Craze Scalloped Circle.  The last leaf, the small one, was glued half onto the Whisper White circle (bottom left) and partially onto the Cajun Craze Scalloped Circle using a mini dimensional on the Cajun Craze piece.

Last, I used Stampin' Dimensionals to adhere the assembled circles with leaves over the ribbon and DSP.  I added 3 copper-colored Designer Elements (2 on the white circle and one bottom left on the stenciled mat).

Inside, I stamped off once with Crumb Cake, the largest leaf in the Gather Together bundle, and then stamped the sentiment using Cajun Craze ink.  See the pictures and the YouTube video.

CARD 5 - AUTUMN LEAVES WITH METALLIC FOIL SHEETS:

For the metallic card, the base is Cajun Craze, but it is a piece cut 4-1//4" x 11", scored at 5-1/2", such that the card opens vertically.  Then, there is a Cajun Craze Mat  4" x 5-1/4", that I embossed using the Hammered Metal 3D embossing folder.  Next I cut a strip of DSP that is a grey linen type pattern with white dots.  That piece is 1-1/2" x 4".  I glued that strip on the left side of the embossed mat.

Next, I took a piece of the Grey Granite Textured Ribbon and tacked it to the back of the embossed mat in such a way that it hides the right edge of the DSP (see piecture).   Then, I glued down the hammered metal embossed Cajun Craze mat.

The next layer is Whisper White that is 3-1/4" W x 4" H.  I used each of the Delicata Metallic Ink Pads with Sponge Daubers and the Leaf Stencil from the decorative masks and made a random pattern.  I glued that down half-way over the DSP, but more towards the top of the card than the bottom vertically, in order to leave room at the bottom for the sentiment.  Next, I die cut the embossed leaves in the dies to the Gather Together bundle (there are 3 dies that emboss with no matching stamp).  I die cut them in gold foil, copper foil and silver foil.  Then I arranged the die cut leaves, which are Absolutely Beautiful by the way, on the under side of a copper foil Starburst punch circle, and then used Stampin' Dimensionals to center that "leaf wreath" over the sponged background piece.

I punched a 1-1/2" circle out of Whisper White card stock scrap and glued the one remaining embossed leaf from gold foil to that white circle.  I glued the white circle onto the copper foiled Starburst circle.

Last, I cut a strip of DSP about 3-1/4" W x 1" H and used the triple banner punch to flag the ends.  I stamped the sentiment using Grey Granite ink on a scrap of Whisper White (about 3/4" H and 3" W) and flagged the ends of that piece as well.  Then glued the Whisper White sentiment strip to the DSP strip, and adhered to the card using Stampin' Dimensionals.

Inside this card, I just used Grey Granite ink and stamped off the largest leaf from the Gather Together bundle in the center of a Whisper White card mat, 4" W x 5-1/4" H, and glued that to the Cajun Craze card base.

Here is the Link to the YouTube Video showing me making this card, starting at approximately 40:56 minutes on the video replay.

Again, if you are in the USA and need a Stampin' Up! demonstrator, I would love to be yours.  If you have any questions, please email me at dahliadesigns57@gmail.com and I'll get back to you as soon as I can!  Thanks so much for stopping by!
